Hippies use Marijuana

The Hippies are known as a different culture, meaning people acting towards a different movement with certain standards. Even though hippies were not only of white race but the majority was. The hippie subculture was originally a youth movement that arose in the United States during the mid 1960s. The term "hippie" came from the word hipster, and was initially used to describe beatniks who had moved into urban areas. The word "hip" came from Black culture and denote awareness. The foundation of the hippie movement finds historical precedent as far back as the counterculture of the Ancient Greeks, espoused by philosophers like Diogenes of Sinope and the Cynics also as early forms of hippie culture. It was known that hippies consumed marijuana and they loved it, most people say they felt the need to rebel against the government. They also wanted to reach a spiritual side; be part of what was then a truly underground culture was their reason to inhale cannabis.
